At South Blendon we place a special emphasis on worship for children and offer several different opportunities:

  • Nursery is available during the church service for young children (infant to 3-years-old)
  • A children’s message during many of our morning worship services
  • Children’s church is an engaging educational program for kids (3 years old thru 2nd grade) during the morning sermon. The goal of Children’s Church is to teach children how to worship so they can remain in the Church Service when they are ready.
  • Worship activity tote bags (WAT Bags) are available for children who prefer to stay with their parents during church

SB Kids Sunday School meets from 11:15 am – 12:15 pm mid-September thru May. Students 3 years old thru 6th grade have an age-appropriate time of fellowship and learning God’s Word. Our youngest class uses The Story for Little Ones curriculum, a one-year overview of the Bible that focuses on the Bible as one big story of God’s redemptive plan.  The older classes are using The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum.  This is a four-year chronological look at the Bible as, not individual and unrelated stories, but one Big story of God’s plan of redemption.

Watch this video for an overview of The Gospel Project for Kids curriculum:

Classroom opportunities are offered based on a child’s age:

  • 3-year-olds through Kindergarten
  • 1st/2nd grade
  • 3rd/4th grade
  • 5th/6th grade

We believe that discipleship is not complete unless all of us are participating in Jesus’ mission in this world.  Therefore, we encourage our kids to participate with their parents in one of our missional communities.  Check out our Missional Communities
